Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in the US and works as a photographer and journalist. For more than forty-five years, she has concentrated on documenting the suffering of people, particularly during war and natural catastrophes. Curry reported on conflicts that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist and TV news reporter and anchor who was most well-known for her role as a correspondent for the Today show, a news morning show that was telecast on the National Broadcasting Co. Curry's Japanese-American mother and U.S. Navy-sailor father played prominent roles within Curry's personal life. In the aftermath of World War II, her parents met when her father served in Japan. Because of her father's military service the family moved frequently. The family eventually arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended the high school. After graduating from University of Oregon, Curry received a bachelor degree in journalism degree in 1978. She finally graduated in Ashland High School. She paved her way for an enviable career after she began her career in broadcasting as a student intern at KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon, eventually becoming the first woman news reporter at the station at the aged of just 22. She subsequently moved to the post of anchor and reporter for KGW an NBC affiliate in Portland, Oregan. After that, she moved into Los Angeles four years later as a journalist for KCBS TV. During her KCBS-TV relationship of six years, she was awarded two Emmy Awards.
